As a rule of thumb, choose a hall that's rated for 20–30% more guests than you're inviting. This accounts for the full reception layout.

In-House vs. External Catering

Many event halls include catering in their packages. Bringing your own caterer gives you more control over the menu. Know which model the hall uses before you fall in love with it.

The Dance Floor Question

If dancing matters to you, evaluate the dance floor carefully. What is it made of (wood is ideal, carpet is terrible for dancing)? Is it large enough for your guest count?

Ambiance and Aesthetics

Some event halls have neutral, flexible interiors that work with almost any décor theme. Others have strong architectural features. Be honest about how much décor budget you're willing to spend.
