Renting an event space comes with responsibilities beyond the contract. Here's the unwritten code of conduct that keeps venues in great shape and renters' reputations intact.

Every venue has written rules in the contract. But there's also an unspoken layer of professional conduct that separates renters who get invited back from those who leave a venue dreading their next booking.
Arrive exactly when your booking starts, not 15 minutes later. Venues often have back-to-back bookings, and your late arrival either rushes your setup or encroaches on someone else's time.
This goes beyond "cleaning up." Rearrange furniture to match how you found it, take all trash with you, clean up spills completely, and leave nothing behind that requires staff to deal with.
Every venue exists in a context. Noise that seems reasonable inside the venue may be entirely unreasonable to people next door. Respect noise restrictions not just because they're in the contract, but because it's the right thing to do.
If your guest count changes significantly or you need something that wasn't in the original booking, communicate it early. Good communication makes you a preferred customer.
If a venue coordinator went out of their way to accommodate your requests, acknowledge it. A genuine thank-you note and a positive review online are the most valuable things you can offer in return.
